Just a brief thing I wrote while feeling particularly inspired by atu XVII, The Star.
The vista broadens and the heart exults
At the sound and flashing of feathered pulsings;
Perhaps too quickly do they pass,
Yet, they must, sternly into the far-off lights.
Here may I learn the secret of the mists and clouds,
The hidden hum of constant hymns,
The silent chant of the trees and grasses -
The quarrel of their leaves providing the drone for
Creation's massive canticle.
Could you look into this space as well?
And lay with me not under stars
But as stars?
For you have an illumination, a turquoise glow about you
In your limbs, in your pale skin,
In the rhetoric of your eyes, and the mellow of your voice,
In the glance you devastate me with - taking me apart
Unabashedly.
These instruments are your starriness made visceral.
It presses against me, directly,
and the wellspring of my pleasure expands
into that endless viewpoint.
We are the infinite, you and I,
And we disintegrate into each other like
Memories do,
Colliding, solar systems and constellations
Of remembrances, former desires,
Subsumed in each other,
Until we are lost
In Love.
